"Could I use baby oil to lube my bike chain without hurting it" – Depends on how you hold the baby – just be sure not to get it caught between the chainring and the chain!
Seriously though, it should be ok – the lighter the better though it will wash off in the rain. Never use car oil – the higher the viscosity the more dust/dirt will stick to it and soon they will grind and wear out the cogs/chain/rollers/etc.
