I think its more about your knowledge and passion for fashion that gets you to the highest job. So GCSE Textiles is the best place to start, from there on you could get into more creative/clothing course as you progress in to higher education. I'm sure you have to climb your way through jobs to get to the highest job, getting intern ships and gaining more experience will benefit. And you have to be good at English to write good editorials.
