A tattoo idea. Hummingbird tattoo? What do you think of this design?
For years I have pondered the idea of a tattoo. I have went from John Lennon quotes to Beatles lyrics to doves and blackbirds and the work Imagine. I have had many ideas. As of now, however, I feel settled on one idea and I would like to know what others think. I know tattoos are a way to express yourself and not to care what others think but I would like a few opinions.
I've always wanted a tattoo that meant something to me which I'm sure most people who get tattoos feel this way too seeing how it will be on your body forever.
My LATEST idea is the tattoo of a hummingbird. I once saw a piece of artwork of a hummingbird with this description and I thought it was beautiful:

I would love to have this symbolism on my body..somewhere that I can cover such as the side of my lower back or my hip or even my shoulder. I cannot find a design but I want it rather medium size to small. I saw this picture

I really liked the simplicity and I wanted to stick to just a black and white tattoo. Then I wanted the words "See beauty in everything." Somewhere incorporated into the tattoo ..maybe in another language. Or the quote "Sip the simple moments."
What are your thoughts? Is it too common? I do want something originial. Would you reccomend more detail? Where should I put it? I prefer black and white tattoos because color can fade and look dirty. Would you suggest color or black and white?
I just want an overall input.
ALSO...if you dissapprove of tattoos that is perfectly fine but don't waste your time telling me how bad tattoos are...you are entitled to your own opinion but you wont change mind.

lovetotalk - I get what your saying and that is what I am wondering. I'm just a little hesitant because it s my first tattoo I wanted to keep it simple then add more later if I change my mind... But I sort of agree with you. I did just find this pic not too long ago though so I will definitely do more research and actually get an artist to draw up something.
